Last week the SML RFID team headed to New York for ‘The Big Show’, also known as NRF, a three-day event aimed at uncovering what’s next for the industry and how the sector can utilize ground-breaking new technologies to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive landscape.
Attracting over 16,000 exhibitors and 40,000 delegates in attendance, ‘The Big Show’ helps to shape retail for the year ahead and enable those within the industry valuable insight into what technologies will drive forward innovation and transformation.
Over the course of the show, the team were able to speak to numerous existing and potential customers about the benefits of RFID technology and how it is and can enhance a retailer’s daily operations through the use of item-level inventory management, loss prevention and delivery on the promise of omnichannel.
In addition, SML RFID launched its latest RFID inlay – the GB5U8, our smallest but high-performance tag. Measuring at just 42 x 24 mm, the inlay is aimed at broad use in the retail market enabling state-of-the-art inventory management for omnichannel retailers. The tag is a foundational element in the pragmatic revolution of retailing and supports both item-level inventory management and loss prevention. Due to its size and performance, the tag is applicable to a number of retail market segments including; apparel, accessories, cosmetics, eyewear, homeware, sporting goods and more.
NRF proved to be a valuable experience in elevating SML’s presence within the industry whilst educating customers on the benefits of our enterprise-grade Clarity solution. The past year has seen the company go from strength to strength and with a number of active projects with some of the largest retailers in the world, 2019 looks to be another successful year for SML.
